A Founding TREE Teacher.
Alfonso has pursued his culinary passion for over 20 years, as an executive chef, caterer, general manager, instructor and entrepreneur in Mexico, the US and Canada. He studied restaurant management and culinary arts as well as nutrition and food science. In addition, Alfonso has practiced and studied horticulture as a hobby for the last 10 years and recently became a Master Gardener through a UC Davis extension program. He follows sustainable horticulture practices and as result his cooking is simple, holistic and fresh. My favorite quote: In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.”
I believe it is important to share with the new generations the truth about what is right, what is wrong and what needs change in our world and societies. It is exciting to be part of a platform such as Tree Academy where creativity and freethinking are encouraged and a hands on approach to real life problems is a reality. I’m thrilled that I had been invited to be part of such a positive environment.
