Sid was introduced toYoga & Meditation in 1987 in La Jolla, Ca while studying at UCSD. He studied yoga at Yogaworks where he became a RYT-500. He then went on to study Yin Yoga with internationally acclaimed Master Yoga Teacher and best selling author, Bernie Clark & Diana Batts at Semperviva Yoga in Vancouver. Studying with Bernie & Diana is when Sid found his true calling.
Going on to study with Sarah Powers, Bernie’s first yin teacher and one of the original Yin Yoga creators (along with Paul Grilley), Sid was accepted to the Sarah & Ty Powers Insight Yoga Institute to further his teaching interests integrating Yin/Yang Yoga, Buddhism and spiritual psychology into a skillful practice to balance the body, heart and mind. Sid is a certified Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Nidra yoga teacher. Sid’s meditation practice comes from his long time trainings and practices in various ancient wisdom traditions.
His primary teacher is Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn. Thich Nhat Hanh is a global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, revered around the world for his pioneering teachings on mindfulness, global ethics and peace. Sid also certified to teach Middle Way Meditation. Deeply curious at heart, Sid encourages students to get to know & honor their bodies where they are today. In his classes, Sid likes to guide students through an empowering, meditative and lighthearted practice, giving the students opportunities to deepen their connection to their body, mind and spirit.
