Looking In On Latin Dance

Our names are Stephany and Jason. We are students from Latin Dance class at TREE Academy.

Our instructor, Bianca Blanco, is very talented and is an expert in Latin Dance.  She started dancing at an early age because it became an obsession.

“I was obsessed,” She told us. “I studied, and studied, and studied.  I took classes and grew up taking dance classes and then I decided to move out here to study Salsa. I was competing and I have performed for the last 10 years. I want Latin dance to be the most awesome thing that’s happening!”

We were able to lead and teach the class, and we wanted to share what we learned with you!

The dance moves below are a sample of what we have been learning in Latin Dance class so far this year.

The trick to salsa is to learn the basic step.

They Are:

Step 1: Step forward with your left foot

Step 2: Step back with your left foot

Step 3: Pause

Step 4: Step back with your right foot

Step 5: Shift your weight to your left foot

Step 6: Step forward with your right foot

Step 7: Pause

As we learn more dance steps we will share them with you here!
