Jack McDonald has always been very passionate about food. From the time he was young he always explored new foods and was always open to trying new dishes.
Recently, Jack began learning how to grow and prepare food in TREE’s Seed to Plate program. In addition, Jack has been studying entrepreneurship in TREE’s “Start Up” elective, which is taught by Dr. Brandon Bernstein. It is from these experiences, over just the past few months, that led Jack to spice things up for his passion project, a brand new Start-Up called “Treesonings.”
Jack has made progress on his company and is about to launch his website. He has three main types of spices: the Savory Spice, the Howler, and the Sweet Spice. Jack’s spice tastes great with all sorts of foods, it brings a great flavor to foods. They each cost fifteen dollars a jar and Jack is donating a large percentage of his profits to various causes including a bee charity, a wolf sanctuary, and to TREE Academy.
Jack hopes that he can learn more about business and food. To Jack, “passion” means something you care about deeply and is the thing you enjoy doing the most. Jack has a lot of support and is thankful for everyone who has helped him with this project, “I feel like it's not hard, you just need help. If you get good people to help encourage you, it won't be hard, and if you're not just in it for the money, you'll be fine.”
