Environmental education studies broaden and deepen our students’ understanding of the immediate and long-term issues facing our natural world, including studies in resource management. By partnering with leading nonprofits in the field, our students are challenged to exercise both practical and creative thinking -- thinking that can lead to both low- and high-tech solutions.
This class explores the ecological, economic and social issues affecting our environment. Emphasis is placed on the synergy of those three areas and how essential our understanding of these areas is for the creation of a sustainable society. The classes are broken down into subjects pertaining to these 3 areas and the teachings are reinforced with field trips, documentaries and experiments in class. The students will develop a strong understanding of the complex relationship between humans and nature, and the changes required to improve the environment and society in general.
