Deborah Kim received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music and her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. Ms. Kim’s performances include the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and concerts overseas in Europe and Asia. Ms. Kim has been concertmaster for the Los Angeles Camerata Orchestra, the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, the Huntington Beach Symphony, and the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony Orchestra. She has attended the Aspen Music Festival and has been invited to coach and conduct master classes at various summer festivals including the Montecito Music Festival, Idllywild Festival, and the New Cranes Festival in Beijing/Los Angeles. Deborah has been on the faculty of the Junior Chamber Music for 10 years and she has been on the panel of judges for numerous competitions in Los Angeles. Ms. Kim founded and directed the South Coast Music School in the South Bay for 9 years and she has been teaching violin privately for over 28 years. Ms. Kim was the President of the Brentwood Symphony Orchestra from 2011-2018. Although Ms. Kim is a classically trained violinist, “Classical Carnage” (her string quartet) has performed live all over LA and Orange County playing acoustic or amped strings rock, pop, and jazz.
